Black Ops 6 Season 2 Outro Teases the Return of a Long-Lost Character

Call of Duty fans have spotted an intriguing reference in the Season 2 outro cinematic of Black Ops 6, hinting at the possible return of a character last seen in Warzone back in 2021.

A Story Rich in Legacy

The Black Ops franchise has always maintained a deep narrative connection between its games, featuring a recurring cast of heroes and villains. In Black Ops 6, three well-known figures from past campaigns—Frank Woods, Russell Adler, and Helen Park—have made their return.

Set in the 1990s, BO6’s campaign follows the events of Black Ops, Cold War, and BO2. With that timeline in mind, it was confirmed that Alex Mason and Jason Hudson were no longer alive. Hudson, a key figure first introduced in the original Black Ops game as a CIA agent, played a pivotal role in BO2 and Cold War.

Most fans assumed Hudson’s story had reached its end, but the Season 3 teaser has sparked speculation about his fate.

Jason Hudson’s Possible Return in Season 3

In the Season 2 outro, Russell Adler receives a call from Frank Woods, who reveals that Jason Hudson had devised a strategy to eliminate Pantheon, the terrorist organization in Black Ops 6. However, Woods mentions that Hudson is ‘doing his job from the grave,’ implying his death still stands.

Despite that, Woods also recalls an eerie moment—two years prior, a mysterious tape with Hudson’s name on it was left at his doorstep. The tape was dated 1989, the same year Hudson supposedly died sacrificing himself to save Woods and Mason from Raul Menendez. Further revelations suggest that Jane Harrow, the main antagonist of BO6, had orchestrated their deaths by manipulating Menendez.

Could Hudson Be an Upcoming Operator?

While the tape’s existence doesn’t outright confirm Hudson’s return in Season 3, many players are convinced that it does.

Notable Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope weighed in, stating, “Looks like this confirms Hudson as an operator for S3? Pretty sure he was leaked/datamined by somebody.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Hudson made a posthumous return. Back in 2021, he appeared as an operator bundle in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Whether or not Hudson is officially back remains to be seen, but all will be revealed when Black Ops 6 Season 3 launches on April 3.
