Microsoft announced during its press conference in Brussels, Belgium that they have agreed with NVIDIA to a 10-year partnership to bring Xbox PC games to the NVIDIA GeForce cloud gaming service.
The agreement will allow gamers to stream Xbox PC titles from GeForce NOW to PCs, macOS, Chromebooks, smartphones and other supported devices. This deal will also include the ability to stream Activision/Blizzard titles if the deal is to pass for their acquisition.
Phil Spencer has said this will bring more choices to gamers and help grow their reach to many across multiple platforms. This deal is to allow streaming services to have access to more games with a push of a button and bring players together no matter where they are or device they play on.
This deal is a part of an agreement to help their fight to pass their Activision/Blizzard purchase by having NVIDIA join them in support, just as Microsoft has done with Nintendo and allowing for a 10 year deal for Call of Duty games. While Microsoft continues to show they are willing to work with others to allow this deal to pass, it will ultimately come down to the EU Commission.
Microsoft has also signed a written contract with Nintendo this morning to make it official that if the acquisition is approved, they will be committed to bringing Call of Duty to their platform as well.
