Over a thrilling 3 days of high tier competitive gameplay, there are only 2 teams left in the battle for who is going to be crowned the CDL Champions of 2024.
Seattle Surge were the first team to fall short and be eliminated from the event after being sent down to the Losers Bracket after the first match of the weekend in which they lost 3-2 to NYSL. Going forward into day 2 they faced the Miami Heritics who were thrashed 3-1 by Faze, in which the Heretics showed too much class in a map 5 which inevitably ended the Surge's championship weekend.
Los Angeles Guerrillas were the 2nd team to fall short and be eliminated by losing their first day match in quick fashion against Optic. This meant they faced Toronto in their 2nd losers bracket match and this caused them to be sent home packing as they lost another staggering 3-0 which meant they didn't win a single map over the Championship weekend.
Going into day 3, Miami vs LAT and Toronto vs Faze were very quick matchups which saw LAT and Toronto ultra both securing a spot in the next round over 3-0 victories. This left LAT vs Toronto Ultra in the losers bracket and the winner was to then play the loser of the winners finals between Option and NYSL. Toronto seemed to struggle but, still came away with a 3-2 victory which left them in the Losers final against NYSL who couldn't get any rhythm going in their map 5 against Optic.
The losers final match was not a disappointment, from start to finish the matchup was a thriller. Both teams played and performed to their best but Toronto just couldn't out perform NYSL who clinched a map 5 win.
Finally, this puts Optic Gaming against NYSL in the final of CDL Champs 2024. Optic have already come out on top against NYSL in day 3, will day 4 be any different or will NYSL come out hot and get their revenge and win the Championship title for the 2nd year in a row?
