Warzone’s controversial one-shot shotgun

The devastating Doom Shotgun has made a return in Call of Duty: Warzone and is already causing chaos on Rebirth Island. The September 2023 update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone introduced a Doom-themed crossover to Al Mazrah, featuring the iconic Slayer’s double-barreled Super Shotgun.

Initially, excitement about the Doom bundle was high, but it quickly turned to frustration as players realized just how overpowering the Super Shotgun Blueprint for the Lockwood 300 could be. The battle royale experience became frustrating as players were one-shot by the gun, even when fully armored.

Although Activision eventually removed the blueprint, it has made a comeback in Season 5 Reloaded due to the return of the Supreme Resurgence mode on Rebirth Island. For some reason, the Maelstrom Dual Trigger attachment for the Lockwood 300 has resurfaced alongside this mode, even though it remains inaccessible in standard Warzone games.

As a result, the Doom Shotgun is once again dominating Rebirth Island, with content creators like tcTekk sharing gameplay footage that showcases the weapon’s devastating impact on unsuspecting opponents.

The gun is not available to purchase via the in-game store at present, meaning only Call of Duty players who previously bought the content can use it now. How long the Doom shotgun will remain in play before developers take action is not yet known.

But the meta weapon’s still-broken, one-shot capabilities suggest Warzone developers did not add it back in on purpose.
