Despite Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 being a few months away from release, leaks are already emerging online. The latest leak reveals the mechanics of the meat shield feature when used against another player.
Instead of automatically executing an enemy when approaching them from behind, players can now use them as a human shield. In a clip shared by Charlie Intel on X/Twitter, this mechanic is demonstrated: the player pulls out a pistol to defend themselves while using the enemy as a shield.
Once an enemy is captured as a meat shield, players have the option to eliminate them. A "Quick Kill" can be performed, resulting in the immediate death of the captured enemy, or players can choose to carry out an execution.
The clip suggests that the meat shield remains alive during this process. However, if the player using the meat shield is killed first, the enemy will continue playing, providing a chance for teammates to be saved if shots are aimed accurately.
This leak is one of several surrounding Black Ops 6, largely due to a version of the game being uploaded to the PSN database, which allowed access to a beta build on the PlayStation 4. To avoid spoilers, it's best to steer clear of specific Call of Duty content for now.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to be released on October 25 and will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
