Tactical Sprint is a faster alternative to regular sprinting, though it has traditionally had a drawback: Warzone players could only use it briefly before needing to wait for a cooldown. However, that will change with the integration of Black Ops 6.
In the original Warzone, players could reset the tactical sprint by slide canceling, which allowed them to navigate the map without slowing down. However, Sledgehammer Games adjusted this mechanic in MW3, removing the ability to reset the tactical sprint in this way.
In May, ModernWarzone ran a poll where 65% of players expressed a desire for unlimited tactical sprint to become a permanent feature. Interestingly, their wish was partly granted shortly afterward, when Warzone introduced a rare item—unlimited tactical sprint boots—that allowed players to run indefinitely. Players enjoyed this feature during its trial, and now it’s set to become permanent in Black Ops 6.
Unlimited Tactical Sprint in Warzone: How It Works
When equipped with a melee weapon in your dedicated slot, you’ll be able to use unlimited tactical sprint in Warzone’s Black Ops 6 integration. In this version, players can carry a melee weapon in addition to both a primary and secondary weapon.
At the Call of Duty NEXT event, streamer Repullze demonstrated the unlimited tactical sprint feature. It not only enables endless sprinting but also increases your operator's running speed. While this feature makes it easier to move around the map, it’s less practical in combat; the melee weapon doesn’t allow shooting, so using this feature in gunfights is only advisable if you can get close to an enemy.
But that’s not the only option for unlimited tactical sprint.
With Black Ops 6’s addition to Warzone, a new battle royale-exclusive perk, Sprinter, also allows players to tactical sprint indefinitely. This option might appeal to players who want their weapons ready at all times, though using Sprinter means giving up a valuable Perk 2 slot, which could otherwise be used for perks like Bomb Squad, Quartermaster, or Quick Fix.
Whether Sprinter becomes a popular choice in Warzone’s meta will depend on how well it complements different loadouts, as the right perk setup can make all the difference between winning and losing.
