Black Ops 6 Free Trial & Season 2 Updates

To celebrate the launch of Black Ops 6 Season 2, Treyarch has introduced a free trial for multiplayer and zombies.

This season brings significant updates, including three new maps—Bounty, Dealership, and Lifeline—two of which are being tested for permanent inclusion in Ranked Play. Additionally, four new weapons have been added, with the PPSh-41 SMG and Cypher 091 AR emerging as strong contenders for the meta after recent balancing changes.

Black Ops 6 Free Trial Details

The Black Ops 6 free trial runs from February 6–10 and is available across all platforms. PlayStation users can download it from the PlayStation Store, Xbox users from the Microsoft Store, and PC players have multiple download options.

New Overdrive Mode Explained

Season 2 introduces Overdrive, a fresh take on Team Deathmatch where players earn stars instead of focusing solely on eliminations:

• 1 Star – Basic Eliminations (standard kills).
• 2 Stars – Core Medal Eliminations (headshots, melee attacks, etc.).
• 3 Stars – Distinguished Medal Eliminations (high-skill takedowns).

Accumulating stars unlocks special abilities:

• 1 Star: Awakened Senses – Wall hacks & health regeneration after eliminations.
• 3 Stars: Physical Enhancements – Faster movement & reload speeds.
• 6 Stars: Augmented Handling – Improved hip-fire accuracy & ADS speeds.

Activating all three buffs triggers Overdrive, doubling star earnings. If eliminated or the timer expires, players revert to base abilities. The first team to reach the required stars wins.

Liberty Falls Directed Mode

For newcomers to Zombies, Directed Mode in Liberty Falls provides a structured experience, guiding players through the steps to complete the main story easter egg. With a max round cap of 15, the difficulty remains manageable, making it the perfect introduction for first-time players.
