Fortnite is celebrating its 7th anniversary with a special birthday event in 2024, offering players free rewards from completing quests. This event runs from September 24 to October 1. Since its release in 2017, Fortnite has introduced numerous skins, game modes, and collaborations, making this birthday event a momentous occasion.

As part of the celebration, Fortnite brings back limited-time quests and rewards, alongside nostalgic in-game items like Balloons and Birthday Cakes, adding fun surprises to the map.

The official birthday is on September 26, but festivities kick off earlier with update v31.20, which was patched on September 24. Typically, Fortnite’s updates roll out on Tuesdays, so this timing was expected.

During the event, the in-game atmosphere changes with a galaxy-themed Battle Bus makeover, fireworks, and plenty of birthday-themed items. Some of the returning fan-favorites include:

• Birthday Presents: Fortnite continues its tradition of introducing presents, which players can break open. Inside, they might discover items such as the Firework Flare Gun.

• Firework Flare Gun: A variant of the regular Flare Gun, this item launches fireworks, lighting up wooden structures and making it easier to drive enemies out of cover.

• Balloons: A fun mobility item, balloons allow players to move swiftly across the island, offering a way to traverse the map quickly.

• Birthday Cake: Scattered around the map, these cakes can be consumed to restore both health and shields, giving players a tactical advantage.

• Birthday Medallion: New for this year, Fortnite has introduced the Birthday Medallion. When equipped, it grants players a Balloon with every jump, enhancing mobility without giving away their location on the map.
