Black Ops 6 Prestige Guide: All Levels, Permanent Unlocks, and Rewards Explained

Overview of Black Ops 6 Prestige System

In Black Ops 6, Treyarch brings back the classic Prestige system, moving away from the seasonal progression model used in recent Call of Duty titles.

Since Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty shifted to a live service model, adding new levels with each season. While this was designed to engage players over time, many fans found it lacking, as the game’s progression system often felt stale after a few weeks.

Black Ops 6 changes this by reintroducing the traditional Prestige system, with Treyarch promising the "most rewarding Call of Duty" experience yet.

Black Ops 6 Prestige System Explained

In Black Ops 6, all Prestige levels are available from launch, meaning players can reach the max Prestige without waiting for new seasons. As always, to Prestige, you need to hit the max Military Rank (Level 55) before entering Prestige Mode. Here’s what happens when you Prestige:

  • Your Player Level resets to 1.
  • All level-based unlocks are relocked, except for Base Operators, Emotes, Zombies GobbleGums, and any items you've permanently unlocked.
  • Loadouts are reset.
  • Lifetime stats remain viewable in the Combat Record, but current stats will reflect your new Prestige level.
  • All blueprints and skins remain unlocked.

Prestige Levels in Black Ops 6

At launch, Black Ops 6 features 10 Prestige levels. Once you reach max Prestige, there are an additional 1,000 levels with exclusive rewards for dedicated players.

Permanent Unlocks

Each time you Prestige, you earn a permanent unlock token. This token allows you to unlock one item of your choice within the Player Levels progression. You’ll earn a total of 10 permanent unlocks—one for each Prestige. After Prestige 10, the permanent unlocks become irrelevant, as you’ll have access to all progression unlocks once you hit Prestige Master.

Prestige Rewards

Here are some of the rewards tied to specific Prestige levels:

  • Prestige 1
    • Prestige Icon displayed on your Level insignia.
    • "Nacht Raider" Weaver Operator Skin.
    • Access to Prestige 1 Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card Challenge Sets.
    • One Permanent Unlock.
  • Prestige 3 (Level 50)

    • "Robot Abomination" SWAT 556 Marksman Rifle Blueprint.
  • Prestige 7 (Level 50)
    • "Specialist Fan" Maya Operator Skin.

Prestige Master Levels

Once you’ve completed all 10 Prestiges, you’ll unlock Prestige Master status. From there, an additional 1,000 levels await, offering more rewards, including:

  • Prestige Master Instant Reward
    • "Sitting Bull Reborn" Marshall Operator Skin.
  • Prestige Master Level 90
    • "Classified Arsenal" AMES 85 Animated Blueprint.
