Thanks to a hidden quality-of-life update in Season 2, MW2 and MW3 SMGs can now stand up to BO6 SMGs, giving them new life in Warzone.
Raven Software made several key adjustments in Season 2, including faster reload speeds, quicker weapon swaps, and reduced penalties for firing after jumping. Along with these changes, the update also nerfed several meta weapons like the XM4, Jackal PDW, and GPR 91. However, many players felt that these tweaks weren’t enough, as the XM4 remained the top long-range option and the PPSh-41 didn’t have the expected impact in close-range combat.
As a result, the developers promised more substantial changes in future updates. But in the meantime, players should consider giving SMGs from past CoD titles a shot once again.
Slide-to-Fire Buff Boosts MW2 & MW3 SMGs in Warzone
MW2 and MW3 lacked the slide-to-fire mechanics seen in BO6, which made transferring their SMGs into Warzone challenging. These older SMGs didn’t have the proper slide-to-fire speeds, making them less effective in the fast-paced close-quarters combat that sliding provides.
Fortunately, this latest update has fixed that issue, making MW2 and MW3 SMGs more effective and allowing them to shred enemies in Warzone’s intense close-range battles.
