Epic gifts fortnite players

Fortnite players report that upon launching the game, they found that Epic had given them old skins and V-Bucks for free, even though they hadn’t played during the seasons when those rewards were available.

This isn’t the first instance of Epic Games unexpectedly distributing old skins and cosmetic items from past seasons.

In November of last year, a long-time Fortnite player shared that they had randomly received various rare Chapter 1 skins after not playing the game for years.

Now, a similar event has occurred in Chapter 5 Season 3, as some Fortnite players on Reddit have noted, with several players stating they were awarded challenges' rewards from multiple past seasons.

One player asked, “Did anyone else just get this skin for no reason? I thought it was gone a long time ago.” Their accompanying screenshot revealed they had received the Underworld Desdemona skin, a reward from the expired Coldest Circles Quests in Chapter 4 Season 2.

Amid the community's jokes about the V-Bucks being a reward for their "hard work," many players proposed different theories about how it might have happened.

"Either a Lobby Track got converted into a free jam track, you bought something that Epic later reduced the price of and they refunded you the difference, or you just randomly received it," one player speculated.

Another suggested, "Or maybe if you owned Rap Boy? But I owned Rap Boy and got nothing, so I don’t know." Epic had revealed that the Eminem skin was removed from several Lockers a few days earlier due to a bug.

Others pointed out that the Silver Shield emblem indicated it was related to unclaimed free Battle Pass tier rewards. "That’s a free Battle Pass symbol on the left side. Did you leave two sets of V-Bucks unclaimed last season and this is your first time logging in this season?"

Regarding the explanations, one player echoed the thoughts of many: "It would be great if Epic Games communicated better with us. Preferably something more informative than 'all your hard work.'"
