Black Ops 6 Update: Recon Combat Specialty Nerf and XP Fixes
In Black Ops 6’s latest update on November 4, Treyarch responded to community feedback with another nerf to the Recon Combat Specialty, alongside a fix for an issue that was affecting XP gains.
The Recon Combat Specialty, which grants a short "wallhack" effect after respawning, had its duration reduced from two seconds to 1.5 in a previous patch. Even with this adjustment, players found the ability still too strong and lacking any real counter. Now, the latest update takes this even further, reducing the effect duration to one second. Whether this will finally strike a balance for the ability remains to be seen.
The update also tackles a big point of frustration around weapon leveling. Players have felt that leveling up weapons takes too long, especially after the recent Double XP event. In response, the development team has adjusted XP rewards in certain game modes, aiming to speed up progression without requiring bonus XP events.
