New GTA Update Has Red Dead 2 Easter Egg

GTA Online's New DLC, Bottom Dollar Bounties, Features a Red Dead Redemption Easter Egg

GTA Online's latest DLC, Bottom Dollar Bounties, includes a delightful Easter egg for fans of Rockstar Games' western series, Red Dead Redemption. This is not the first time Rockstar has linked its game franchises, and this Easter egg adds to the fun connections between the two.

Bottom Dollar Bounties introduces a new business and property in GTA Online: the Bail Office. Within one of these purchasable locations, players can find a computer used to access the bounty hunting system, where they can select targets and view their rewards.

Keen-eyed Red Dead Redemption 2 fans noticed that the wallpaper on the iFruit computer in the Bail Office is actually a screenshot from Red Dead Redemption 2, likely taken in Beaver Hollow. This screenshot was extracted by community member @PLTytus, and you can see it in full resolution by clicking on the images below.

Initially, some fans speculated this might be a teaser for GTA 6. However, the environment in the image confirms it is from Red Dead Redemption 2. This is also not the first instance of Rockstar using a Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshot as a background for a GTA Online business; for example, a photo from Big Valley was used as wallpaper on computers in the Agency properties.

Another enjoyable aspect of the Bail Office are the awards displayed in the property when players achieve certain criteria. According to Twitter user @Lucas7yoshi_RS, the Plaque is unlocked after completing 10 bounties, the Shield requires 100 completed bounties, and the Cuffs are awarded for capturing all 24 unique bounties alive.
