Warzone Verdansk map return in Black Ops

After years of rumors, Raven Software, the developer behind Warzone, has officially confirmed that the original Verdansk map will make a comeback in Black Ops 6. While the developers have remained largely silent about the details, some information has emerged, and here's what we know so far.

Verdansk, the original map in Call of Duty's popular battle royale mode, quickly became a fan favorite. However, in December 2021—18 months after the game's release—it was replaced by Caldera, a map that never quite matched Verdansk's popularity, despite players' increasing demands for a fresh experience.

Since then, many players have been asking for Verdansk’s return to relive old memories and favorite drop spots. Though it seemed unlikely, unless playing Warzone Mobile where Verdansk remained available, there is now a glimmer of hope for its long-awaited comeback.

As of now, Verdansk does not have an official release date for Black Ops 6. However, Activision has confirmed that Verdansk will return to Call of Duty in Spring 2025.

Initially, rumors circulated that Black Ops 6 would launch with Verdansk as its main battle royale map. But on June 27, a leak suggested that the iconic map would instead be introduced later, midway through the game's lifecycle.
