The return of Verdansk may be delayed

The much-anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone has been delayed, according to a prominent Call of Duty leaker. Instead of being released alongside Black Ops 6, it is now expected to arrive sometime during the game's "mid-lifecycle."

Verdansk, the original map for Warzone, was removed in December 2021 and replaced with Caldera, which did not receive the same level of enthusiasm from fans.

When rumors about Verdansk's return began circulating, the Warzone community was excited about the map's comeback. However, they will now have to wait longer than initially expected, as no new release date has been provided.

The news was first revealed by well-known Call of Duty leaker, bob, on X, where they stated: "Verdansk will be delayed from Season 1 of Black Ops 6 to sometime during the mid-lifecycle of Black Ops 6." This report was later confirmed by our sister site, CharlieIntel, with multiple sources supporting the information.

Additionally, the leaker mentioned that the Urzikstan map would receive gameplay and map updates, and Ranked Play would be introduced in Season 1 to compensate for the delay.

With increasing frustration and dissatisfaction with the current maps in the Call of Duty Battle Royale, fans will have to wait a bit longer to return to the beloved Verdansk.

Recently, Warzone reintroduced Rebirth Island, another popular map from the Black Ops Cold War era. However, the excitement for this rerelease was dampened by the presence of hackers and overly competitive players, which spoiled the experience for many.

Despite this, Verdansk remains accessible today in Warzone's mobile version, allowing handheld players to enjoy the iconic battle royale landscape. Unfortunately, console and PC players will have to be patient as they await the map's eventual return.
