How to Unlock the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon in MW3 & Warzone

Season 4 Reloaded of MW3 and Warzone has introduced two new weapons, including the Sledgehammer, a formidable melee option perfect for melee enthusiasts.

Earlier in Season 4, four new weapons were added to MW3 and Warzone, with the Kar98k and the Superi 46 debuting at the season's start.

With the Season 4 Reloaded update, two additional weapons have been added: the Reclaimer 18 shotgun and the Sledgehammer. The Sledgehammer, a powerful melee weapon, has been a recurring feature in previous CoD titles, particularly those developed by Sledgehammer Games like Vanguard and World War 2.

How to Unlock the Sledgehammer in MW3 and Warzone

To unlock the Sledgehammer, you must complete five Weekly Challenges. These challenges can be completed in any of MW3’s modes and in Warzone.

While the exact number of weapon levels is unknown, it's likely that the Sledgehammer won't have attachments. However, you will need to level it up to access camo challenges. The Sledgehammer will also introduce the new “Dubs Dubs Dubs” Weapon Camo for camo enthusiasts.

Unlike some of MW3 and Warzone’s newer melee weapons that prioritize speed, the Sledgehammer emphasizes raw power.

“This bludgeoning behemoth isn’t designed for driving nails into wood. With a 20-pound head forged from carbon steel and beveled to prevent chipping upon impact, this monster of a melee weapon can inflict massive blunt force damage quickly,” the developers noted in the Season 4 blog.

The Sledgehammer, along with the Reclaimer 18, is available as part of the Season 4 Reloaded update, which launched on June 26 at 9 AM PST | 12 PM EST | 5 PM BST.
