Kai Cenat beats Elden Ring

Kai Cenat recently ventured into FromSoftware's Elden Ring, conquering the base game early last month after enduring 1,700 deaths and a grueling 24-hour battle with Malenia. Now, after 1,070 deaths and nearly 100 hours, he's triumphed again, beating the DLC in what felt like an emotional Truman Show-like stream.

Kai Cenat's streaming approach is notably intense. Rather than hopping on and off the game, he streamed continuously for almost 100 hours, encompassing gaming, sleeping, and everything in between. His setup is equally formidable, featuring an Iron Throne reminiscent of Game of Thrones, a life-size Melania statue, red drapes, golden candelabras, and stone pillars. In his darkest moments battling the final boss, Cenat even resorted to a quick therapy session.

"Don't let it put you in a defeated headspace because then you'll continuously feel defeated," the therapist advised. "You're going to get outside, you're going to hang out with your friends." This conversation, filled with positive affirmations and practical advice, aimed to help Cenat keep perspective and push through to beat the game. Personally, having a therapist offer a reality check during tough gaming moments would be invaluable.

This kind of reaction to Shadow of the Erdtree is not uncommon; many players have struggled with the DLC, leading to mixed reviews on Steam. The DLC is significantly more challenging than the base game, with less forgiving boss fights that often require specific builds. Shields, for example, become almost essential in the DLC, despite being less critical in the base game.

Beating Shadow of the Erdtree is a notable achievement, earning Cenat respect from his fans. "I probably died to [Radahn] at least 40-50 times, and I'm a Souls veteran. I can't imagine how much of a trial by fire that is for someone completely new," one player commented on Reddit. Another added, "This is why I love Souls games—they show that as long as you don’t give up, you can achieve your goals."

FromSoft games certainly teach resilience and dedication in brutal ways, but a recent patch for Shadow of the Erdtree has reportedly made the DLC slightly less difficult. Additionally, mods are available to make the game more manageable if you're stuck. Or, in the words of Kai Cenat, "put your big boy pants on, go out there, and fight."
