MW3 Season 6 patch notes

MW3 Season 6 marks the final major update for Modern Warfare 3, bringing the game to a close with a host of exciting content.

With Black Ops 6 on the horizon, MW3 gets its last hurrah in the form of Season 6, which introduces two new weapons, a new 6v6 map, various map variants, four returning modes, and the highly anticipated Haunting event.

Additionally, the update includes several balance adjustments, with numerous buffs and nerfs that will shake up MW3’s meta, encouraging players to rethink their weapon choices.

Below are the complete patch notes for MW3 Season 6, detailing all the features of this significant update.

MW3 Season 6 Update Release Date & Time
Modern Warfare 3 Season 6 will launch on September 18, 2024, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST. Along with delivering fresh content, the update will also remove the Black Ops 6 beta files, freeing up storage space.

The Season 5 Battle Pass will be replaced upon release, bringing new Halloween-themed rewards. Additionally, a fresh set of weekly challenges will be introduced, and unlocks from the previous season will be moved to the armory.

New Weapons: DTIR 30-06 & Kastov LSW
Season 6 adds two new weapons: the DTIR 30-06 and the Kastov LSW. Both can be unlocked via the Season 6 Battle Pass, in Sector 6 and Sector 9, respectively.

The DTIR 30-06, a battle rifle with 20 levels, is described as “steady and powerful,” ideal for skilled operators. Meanwhile, the Kastov LSW, a unique LMG with 16 levels, boasts a high fire rate, superb Tactical Stance accuracy, and fast reload speed, making it effective at close range.

New Maps: Drive Thru, Mad Cow, and Shipment Variants
Season 6 introduces Drive Thru as the only brand-new map, set in a clown-themed restaurant. It’s a compact map designed for fast-paced, action-packed gameplay. Joining it is Mad Cow, a reskin of the Meat map, which adds a bloodier, more intense visual theme.

Additionally, five unique variants of the iconic Shipment map are included in this update: Arena Shipment, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, Stay High, and Sunny Shipment. Each variant retains the classic Shipment layout but incorporates different themes to keep the experience fresh and exciting.

The Haunting Event
The Haunting returns in MW3 Season 6, offering players new rewards. In multiplayer, the Trick ’r Treat: Candy Hunt Event tasks you with stealing candy from enemies and trading it for “killer rewards.”

The event also brings back themed game modes like Infected and Hordepoint, along with new modes Arcade and Mutation, giving players plenty to dive into throughout the season.
